Silk Art: ORIGINAL VEILS

David researched Middle Eastern art looking for dance veils and found that no specific fabric art pieces were ever created for dance. Searching for a more general graphic tradition, he found that the use of borders and text as a decoration was common in the Muslim - Arabic world. David's Original Veils use strong graphics and borders with text to create his first exploration into this art form. David hand-paints all of his veils on 5mm habotai China silk, sometimes using gutta resist and steam-set procion MX dyes.
